Places are available for instrumental musicians on YMT:UK’s 2008 Productions.
These places are open to all instrumentalists of varying standards but some projects will require a minimum of Grade 7. Those projects that include actor/musicians require lesser grades. So don’t be put off if you feel you’re not Nigel Kennedy! We place music at the heart of our company and aim to include players of all ability in a variety of projects, so get on the phone and book an audition! It’s a chance to work and learn with some of the UK’s top theatre composers and musical directors as well as a great way to improve your overall perception of performance.
There are also places for actor/musicians. What’s this? Actor/musicians are performers who feel equally at home playing and acting AT THE SAME TIME USUALLY! Several of our projects aim to include this type of individual performer and we’re keen that any musicians with a hint of the acting bug get in touch. Actor/musicians of all abilities are welcome to audition. Just bring along your instrument and your talent, leave the rest to us!
We do not charge for the instrumental audition because it is fairly short (compared to the actors' two hour workshops. But we do ask for a returnable dposit of £10. Send this in with your application and we will refund you in cash at your audition.
You can apply by post. The application form is available as a download below or go to the Download page for the same form. All postal applications will be assessed as they come in and you will be contacted by a member of the staff to arrange an interview/discussion.
Any other questions please call the office on 0870 240 5057
As for the actors, instrumentalists will need to be able to pay a course fee for each course. They will receive offers in the same way as the actors and will receive the same fundraising booklet - 'Putting the Fun into Fundraising'. |
